Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Draft notice: This policy is written in plain language and should be reviewed by a qualified privacy or legal professional before Starbeam Club launches, including for children’s privacy laws such as COPPA (US), GDPR (EU/UK) and any state privacy laws that apply.

The short version

Who we are

Starbeam Club (“we”, “us”) runs starbeamclub.com and sends personalized bedtime stories by email. If you have any question about this policy, write to us at hello@starbeamclub.com.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect your first name, your email address, and your confirmation that you are a parent or guardian aged 18 or older.

If you choose to tell us more, we collect each child’s first name, age and gender (or “prefer not to say”), the story modes you’re interested in, the plan you’re considering, and how you heard about us. All of this is optional.

Automatically, when you sign up we record the page you arrived on, the website that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed (for example, that you came from our Instagram profile). This helps us understand which places parents find us. We do not use advertising trackers or sell this information.

The name preview, where you can type your child’s name into a sample story, runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type there is sent to us unless you ask us to email you the story.

If you ask us to email you a sample story, we collect your email address and the child’s first name you typed, and use them only to send that one story. We keep a record of the request (your email, the first name, the time and a one-way scrambled version of your IP address that can’t be turned back into the address) so we can prevent misuse, such as the same story being sent over and over. Requesting a story doesn’t add you to the waitlist, and we won’t email you again unless you join.

Children’s information

Starbeam Club is for parents and guardians. Children’s details are provided by a parent or guardian, never collected from children themselves. We ask only for what’s needed to make a story feel like theirs: a first name, an age so the story fits them, and a gender if you’d like us to use it. We don’t ask for last names, photos, addresses, birthdays or school names.

If you choose a plan with deeper personalization after launch, you may choose to add details like a favorite color, a pet’s name, a friend’s first name or your hometown. These are used only inside your family’s stories.

How we use it

We do not use your children’s information for advertising, and we do not build profiles of children.

What we never do

We never sell, rent or trade your information or your children’s information. We don’t share it with advertisers.

Who helps us

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Starbeam Club, such as our database host (Supabase), our website host and our email delivery provider (Resend). They process information only on our behalf and only to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist information until launch and, if you subscribe, for as long as your account is active. If you don’t subscribe, or you cancel, you can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we’ll periodically remove waitlist entries that are no longer needed.

Your choices and deleting your data

You can ask us to see, correct or delete any information we hold about you or your children. Just email hello@starbeamclub.com from the address you signed up with and tell us what you’d like. We’ll confirm once it’s done, normally within 30 days.

Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe.

Keeping it safe

Information is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored in a secured database. The public website can only add new waitlist entries; it cannot read, change or delete existing ones.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
